I write what I know, what I have experienced, what I believe to be true, what I hope and wish for. I believe Love between two individuals and between all peoples is sacred and the most important thing there is about being alive. Let it be so.

      I am Meztiza, belonging to both worlds . I was born in the border town of Calexico and grew up in Arizona and in Baja California, Mexico. The Arizona/Sonora desert was my refuge, my consolation when I was being educated in Tucson. In Baja, my Father's ranch with its wilderness and rivers, its giant oak trees and the softness of the earth under my bare feet was my happiness.

     I am an artist and a writer currently based in Minneapolis, but the land and the peoples of the Southwest and Mexico will always remain the core of my inspiration and subject matter for both my painting and writing.
